The Dalmore PORTFOLIO Series

The Portfolio Series pairs specially commissioned works of art with masterpieces of whisky making. We worked with V&A Dundee, Scotland’s design museum, to find partners who could produce masterpieces of design tailored to accompany an amazing trio of whiskies. 

The first of our partners, Fraser Gray, was influenced by the buildings of The Dalmore’s distillery and the distinctive shapes of our stills. He took the outlines of these shapes and incorporated bold colours – a personal response to the flavours discovered whilst tasting alongside our whisky makers. The result is a striking abstract depiction of the sensory experience of enjoying these whiskies, and of the unique place where they were created.​

Finished in casks from one of the oldest and most prestigious wine estates in Bordeaux. Its unique terroir of gravelly soil contributes to the wines’ complexity and elegance.

The Aroma

Lemon drizzle cake, Manuka honey, grape pulp, and Golden Delicious apple

On the Palate

Rich vanilla, citrus, and ripe fruit

Finishing Notes

Poached pear drenched in creamy custard

Finished in casks from vineyards on the stony soils of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

The Aroma

Pink grapefruit, ginger and vanilla, with hints of marmalade, toffee apple, and raisins

On the Palate

Crushed almonds, sweet sultanas, fresh ginger, and soft liquorice

Finishing Notes

Poached pear and cranberries 

Finished in casks from one of the world’s most iconic estates. Classified as a Premier Cru Classé, this honour is reserved for only the finest estates in the Bordeaux region.

The Aroma

Dark forest fruits, Seville oranges, liquorice and cedar wood

On the Palate

Blackcurrant, baked apples, demerara sugar, intertwined with warm dark cacao

Finishing Notes

Bergamot, passion fruit, baked brioche, and balanced wood spice
